The Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) is searching for a new executive director. The Executive Director serves as project administrator with ultimate responsibility for all the activities of the Association. This position is required to work primarily at TDCAA headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position are:
• Assist the association leadership in the development and implementation of policy.
• Execute instructions and objectives as determined by the TDCAA Board of Directors and Association committees.
• Implement the long-range plan objectives of the Association.
• Keep the Association leadership informed of activities and issues of importance to TDCAA and its membership.
• Oversee the production of all training, publication, technical assistance, and governmental affairs activities of TDCAA.
• Act as a liaison between TDCAA and other law enforcement, association, and governmental entities, and supervise the Staff Attorneys and Governmental Affairs Director in these activities.
• Supervise the TDCAA staff to ensure the Association’s activities are carried out in a timely, relevant, and accessible manner.
• In conjunction with the Training Director, Assistant Training Director, Senior Staff Counsel, Staff Counsel, DWI Resource Prosecutor, and Domestic Violence Resource Prosecutor, respond to all technical assistance needs of the association.

• Must have a J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
• Prosecution experience
• Legislative experience
• Grant administration experience
• Management (personnel and financial) experience
The position requires 40 hours of work per week, FLSA status is exempt, the position is based at an on-site location in Austin, Texas.
