Federal judge in Idaho halts execution of a man on death row

Thomas Eugene Creech was set to be executed in February, but execution team members were not able to find a viable vein. Convicted of committing over 5 murders, Creech’s new execution date in November was postponed by a judge due to his claims that prosecutors acted improperly during his clemency hearing.

South Carolina inmate executed despite a judge and jurors fighting for his life to be spared

Richard Moore, convicted of killing a convenience store clerk in 1999, was executed on November 1st in South Carolina. His execution was carried out despite Moore and more than 20 other people’s requests that he be granted clemency.

Man charged with four murders and two armed robberies pleads guilty

Ameen Hurst, 20, entered a guilty plea on Friday for the four murders and two armed robberies he was charged with in 2021. After escaping from prison last year, Hurst was recaptured and charged with escape on top of his other charges.

Texas inmate on death row granted a new trial based on claims of antisemitism in his first trial

Randy Halprin, who won reprieve in his 2019 case by claiming that his judge was anti semitic, was granted a new trial by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Halprin, along with 6 other inmates he escaped prison with, was charged with robbing a sports store and the murder of a police officer in 2000.
