- Utah: The Utah Supreme Court vacated the death sentence given to Douglas Lovell for the kidnapping and murder of Joyce Yost in 1985. The court found issues with the handling of evidence containing mitigating and aggravating factors. Investigators say Lovell killed Yost to prevent her from testifying that he had raped her in court.

- Texas: Treyvon Vance 28, faces a capital murder charge by terror threat to the incident among 10 other charges according to Travis County Officials. Johnathan Silguero was charged in March for the same incident. Officials say they collected evidence including text messages that show the two conspired to murder Hector Diaz Esparza under the ruse that they would sell him a firearm before robbing him.

- Texas: Johan Martinez-Rangel and Franklin Peña have been charged for the capital murder of a 12 year old girl. According to a search warrant, both men accuse the other of approaching, sexually assaulting, and murdering Jocelyn. Both men can injuries to their arms and are held on a $10 million bond.
