- Texas: Deputy Fernando Esqueda, 28 was ambushed and killed allegedly by Ronnie Palmer early Thursday morning (July 11). Palmer was tracked down and, upon being surrounded, surrendered to law enforcement.

- Mississippi: 19-year-old Martavious Douglas was denied bond at his initial court appearance after being arrested Wednesday, July 10. Douglass is accused of multiple homicides occurring in July 2022, January 2024, and most recently July 3, 2024. He was out on bond for the 2022 capital murder charge before his arrest.

- Arkansas: Larry Xavier Clark, 22, has been arrested for the shooting death that police responded to on June 25. The investigation is ongoing.
- Utah death row inmate sues the state over the untried drug combination set for his execution July 12, 2024
- Utah: Taberon Honie is scheduled to be executed for the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s mother in 1999 on August 8, 2024. Honie’s attorneys have filed a lawsuit questioning the effectiveness of the cocktail of fentanyl, ketamine, and potassium chloride that is set to be used. The lawsuit alleges that the Utah Dept. of Corrections had not been notified of the AG’s Office’s filing for the death warrant and the cocktail, having never been tested runs the risk of botching the execution.
